Public Works Student

The Township of St. Clair is currently seeking summer students to fill positions at the Moore and Wilkesport Maintenance Shops as follows:

Public Works Students
As part of a team with regular staff, the student will complete duties related to health, safety and protection of residents, property, and infrastructure within St. Clair Township as follows:
• Maintenance of the roads system, water system and sanitary sewer system.
• Hydrant flushing and painting.
• Grass cutting.
• Locate of Township underground utilities.
• Sidewalk maintenance/inspection.
• Water meter reading.
• Responding to consumer service appointments and complaints/concerns.
• Provide improvements and beautification for festivals and community events such as Firefighter Field Day, Sombra Days, Captain Kids Days, St. Clair River Run, Gala Days, and the Brigden Fair.

The ideal candidate will be a post-secondary student with experience in general and lawn maintenance. The candidate must be willing to work outdoors and have a demonstrated ability to work as a member of a team. The candidate must also hold a valid Class G2 Ontario driver’s licence with an acceptable abstract.
