St. Clair Township crews continue to work to clear parks and roads of fallen trees and debris following Saturday’s severe weather that caused widespread damage – most significantly in parts of Mooretown and Courtright. We appreciate your patience as we manage a high volume of service requests and prioritize the most critical safety hazards first.
SOME REMINDERS FOR RESIDENTS
Township Property vs. Private Property
- Township Property: The Township is responsible for clearing fallen trees located on public property, parks, and municipal road allowances. Please contact us directly to report these issues.
- Private Property: Homeowners are responsible for property cleanup. This includes clearing fallen limbs from your own trees, as well as any neighbour’s debris that may have landed in your yard. We encourage residents to contact local arborist companies for professional removal support.
Brush Collection: Clair Township does not provide brush collection. Brush can be disposed of at Curran Recycling, Transco, Waste Depot and St. Andrews Compost site for a fee.
Moore Museum Closure Notice: Please note that the Moore Museum, located at 94 Moore Line, is closed indefinitely due to severe storm damage. Crews are currently working to clean up the site, and we will provide updates as soon as it is safe to reopen.
Safety Reminders
- Power Lines: Never approach or touch a tree that is contacting power lines. Stay well back and report it immediately to your local utility provider.
- Immediate Danger: If a fallen tree blocks a roadway or strikes a house, please call emergency services right away.
