COUNCIL HIGHLIGHTS: June 15, 2026

 

ST. CLAIR TOWNSHIP – At its regular meeting on Monday, June 15, St. Clair Township Council:

  •  Heard a presentation from Sarnia-Lambton Crime Stoppers about their Community Sign Initiative and approved the installation of signs at locations throughout the Township.
  • Approved request from Captain Kidd Days committee to hold a fireworks display at the Corunna Athletic Park (CAP) as part of the annual event on Aug. 2.
  • Awarded the contract for upgrades to the Riverview Public School pedestrian crossing to BXF Infrastructures Inc., in the amount $175, 948.21 (+HST) with budget shortfall funded through savings from the Sombra Community Park Parking Lot project.
  • Awarded the contract for asphalt overlay work at various locations along the St. Clair River Trail to 1197245 Ontario Limited in the amount of $85,682.14 (+ HST).
  • Awarded the contract for Rural Microsurfacing Treatment to Duncor Enterprises Inc. in the amount of $348,650.00 (+HST) with budget shortfall funded by savings from the Lambton Line Cold-In-Place Recycling project.
  • Approved an agreement with Gillier Construction Inc. for completion of the Curran Avenue Watermain Replacement work, at a cost of $161,590.00 (+HST).
  • Awarded the contract for renovation work at the Wilkesport Operations Centre shop to Wright General Contractors, in the amount of $117,768.89 (+HST) with additional costs covered through the Public Works Equipment Reserve.
  • Approved a bylaw to recover costs associated with maintenance and repairs to several municipal drains through assessments to benefiting property owners.
