ST. CLAIR TOWNSHIP – Residents are reminded that the municipality’s Spring Yard Waste Collection program concluded the week of June 15, 2026.
St. Clair Township provides curbside yard waste collection during two seasonal collection periods each year – spring and fall. Fall Yard Waste Collection will run from the week of Oct. 19, 2026, through the week of Nov. 16, 2026. Collection will occur on your regular scheduled day (Monday or Wednesday, depending on your zone/service area)
In the meantime, yard waste may be set out with your regular garbage collection, subject to the six-item limit. Please note that yard waste collected during this period will be taken to landfill rather than the compost site.
Residents may continue to use marked containers or compostable paper bags, although this is not required while yard waste is being directed to landfill. Whenever possible, we encourage residents to mulch grass clippings and leaves on their property.
Yard waste includes:
Grass clippings
Leaves
Garden plants
Loose hay (not baled)
Not Permitted: sticks and branches, woody stems from ornamental grasses and wood plants, kitchen waste, earth, stones, walnuts, pinecones, wood mulch, tree stumps, logs, body wood, large brush, and whole shrubs with root ball attached.
